Feadóg

The entry-level whistle is made by feadóg in Dublin. They have been approved and recommended by Comhaltas Ceoltóirí na hÉireann. It is available in 8 colours, nickel, brass, black, blue, green, red and yellow. They come in three different types of pack. The single whistle pack just has a whistle and a basic instruction sheet (€4.75 brass, €5.50 colour or €5.95 nickel). The Double pack has one whistle and a more detailed tutor book(€7.95). And the Triple pack has one whistle, the tutor book and the accompanying CD.(€12.95) The Feadóg whistle is available in the key of D. They also do a more advanced version nickel for €6.99.

Generation

The generation whistles are made in Britain and are quite popular with session players due to the range of Keys. Bb (€7.90 brass or €8.10 nickel), C (€7.15 brass or €8.10 nickel), D (€6.50 brass or €7.65 nickel), Eb (€6.30 brass or €7.40 nickel), F (€5.95 brass or €6.95 nickel), G (€5.50 brass or €6.95 nickel).

Shaw

The Shaw whistles have a wooden insert which makes gives them a very soft, breathy tone which is ideal for slow airs and ballads. They are handmade from nickel silver and come complete with presentation case. They are available in D (€25.50), C (€31.50), A (€79.00) and Low D (€139). Other keys are available on request.

Tony Dixon Whistles

Tony Dixon has been making whistles for a long time but recently they were made available on a regular basis to us. They are available in 3 different models. The first is a polymer fixed head whistle. It has a nice bright tone.€16.99

The next is a two piece tuneable polymer whistle. This sells at €26.95

The next whistle has a polymer head and an alluminium body with a brass tuning slide. It has a warm yet bright tone. €50 Available in C, D an E

The Low Whistle range from Tony includes the polymer Low D with fixed head (€89) and a low whistle with an interchangeable flute head. The whistle has an alluminium body.(€139)

The Susato whistles are american-made plastic whistles. They are two piece tuneable whistles with great projection and good tone. The Adler Heinrich whistles are made in Germany. Due to the all wooden, two-piece body, The whistles have a mellow tone like none other. They are available in a gold finish or a black finish and come with a velvet pouch. €69
